Sira-an Hot Spring is located in the municipality of Anini-y, the southern tip of Antique. I believe, it is one of famous Western Visayas tourist destination.
Aside from from it's calming and beautiful scenery, the sunset view every twilight is amazing.
You can enjoy the swimming pool and mini bathtubs overlooking the sea with warm water that reeks sulfur.
Unlike other hot spring resorts, many believe that Sira-an hot spring water has a therapeutic effect on the body. It can cure aching muscles, bones and skin diseases like eczema and fungal infections .
A grotto on top of the volcano was made by the municipal government. They say this grotto protects them from any harm that the mountain may incur.
Siraan hot spring faces the beautiful island of Nogas.
According to some natives Anini-y to is known to be the home of lovers – Nogas and Anini, obviously it's where Anini-y derived its name. Nogas, a handsome slave and a farmer’s son and Anini from the maharlikas, the royalty, fell in love with each other. Nogas is a descendant of the uripons, or slaves so their love affair was forbidden and so it ended in a tragedy. Nogas was killed and his body was thrown into the sea. After few days, an island appeared and was named after him. Anini died out of loneliness and was buried along the rocky seashore facing the island that was once her lover. On her burial site appeared a hot spring and a small volcano. The hot water represents her tears while the volcano is her heart, still beating for Nogas.
A culture rich with majestic ambiance, Anini-y is surely one of your to go list this summer.
